Us: 4 goofy Cornell PhD students, a cat, and a puppy.
We spend a lot of time together, but we’re all pretty introverted and appreciate a quiet, mellow environment.
We have dinner together 5 nights a week and often watch tv/movies together or just sit around chatting.
We’re pretty tidy, but not perfect.
We have medium sized parties every couple months and like having friends over.
The house: 5 bedrooms, 2.
5 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens, a big porch, a fenced yard, and a basement with lots of storage space.
In unit washer dryer, parking available (though 5 cars might be a tight squeeze), and a dishwasher in the kitchen.
You: Queer friendly, happy living with a cat and a dog, enthusiastic about sharing house responsibilities, and comfortable around cannabis use.
Shared responsibilities: each of us cook dinner for the house one night a week using groceries we buy collectively.
We divide up general house chores and each person has a house job (buying groceries, managing trash, etc.
).
We have house meetings once a month.
$$$: rent is $630/month with a $630 security deposit (returned when you leave).
We split the cost of food and utilities.
With rent, food, and utilities, it comes out to about $900/month.
Transportation: 20 minute walk downtown, ~20 minute bus to Cornell, very close to 14 and 20 bus stops.
We sometimes drive to campus together.
