Summary Dimensional Energy is seeking a full time Controller to oversee the company's financial reporting and accounting operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and growing the company’s accounting and internal operations infrastructure to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasting to drive sound operational and financial decisions.
The Controller will work closely with leaders across the company to provide insights on business operations, pricing, and special projects.

Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $100,000-150,000, depending on market, skills, and experience.
This position is eligible to participate in the company’s incentive stock compensation program.

Key Responsibilities Under the guidance of the CFO and COO, manage the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, vendor billing and management, and financial analysis.
Work with bookkeeper and external accounting firms to ensure timely monthly and annual closes, regularly review and make necessary corrections to financial transactions and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded with sufficient detail.
Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax laws, grant requirements, and company policies and procedures, including new Canadian subsidiary HR, payroll, and immigration requirements.
Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for senior management and other stakeholders.
Monitor internal budget lines and ensure company-wide compliance with expense and spending policies.
Ensure grant compliance, prepare required reports, and compile and submit regular invoices for reimbursement.
Assist with grant applications as needed.
Approve vendor invoices, ensure proper internal coding, track vendor payments Review and approve bi-weekly payroll for US employees and monthly payroll for Canadian employees.
Approve and process requests for certificates of insurance, credit application, and other requests from external vendors.
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to accounting and operational processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Have a can-do attitude and be willing to jump in and do what is required to move the company’s objectives forward in a timely manner.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of relevant work experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing preferred.
Strong desire to work in the sustainability and carbon utilization field.
Willingness to learn and grow.
Ability to proactively and independently perform tasks, seeking guidance when needed.
Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
Familiarity with financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis; expert capabilities in Excel.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
