Mecklenburg Volunteer Fire Company Treasurer (Mecklenburg, NY)

The Mecklenburg Volunteer Fire Company (MVFC) is seeking applicants for the compensated role of company treasurer.
The treasurer is responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of and will be bonded to the MVFC.
The treasurer will attend the monthly business meetings and communicate directly with the membership and board of the MVFC to carry out his/her duties.
Specific duties include: Paying all bills of the fire company as authorized Depositing all monies received on behalf of the fire company Maintaining records of all financial transactions Preparing and presenting a report to reconcile all amounts received and expended for the monthly fire company business meetings Tracking the depreciation of assets Creation of 1099s and other tax forms as needed Working with outside auditors Joining MVFC as a social member Ideal candidates will: Have work experience and/or education as a treasurer or in a similar financial accounting role Have a familiarity with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel, as well as Quickbooks Provide 2 references Contract type: Part time 5-10 hours per month Must attend monthly business meeting Compensation: Negotiable based on experience
