*Job Summary*:
Our Wine store offers hundreds of wines from all over the world.
In this role, you’ll serve as the product knowledge expert for wine, building relationships and customer loyalty by proactively providing personalized solutions and pairing suggestions that create interest and enthusiasm for our products and deliver incredible, knowledge-based service.
*Duties*:
* Assist in employee development; provide resources, training, feedback, and development opportunities
* Lead by example and create a fair, empowering, and safe work environment; maintain & encourage two-way communication
* Preserve our culture, lead with our values, and ensure the company remains a great place to work for all
* Partner with Manager and Consultants to oversee the fine wine room; highlight wine in well-merchandised collections to peak customer’s interests and grow sales
* Participate in flavor huddles & other celebrations of wine and food to be able to share knowledge about new programs and products with customers and make pairing suggestions aligned with culinary trends
* Execute Merchandising priorities, while also being empowered to make decisions that delight the customer and build sales and loyalty
* Stay up-to-date on wine industry, regions, varietals and taste profiles; continuously learn about new products and services
* Proactively engage customers in conversations to build relationships and help them find the perfect selection
* Work with Manager and Company Consultants in response to Top Customer requests to source rare and special wine selections
* Develop a wine culture throughout the store; educating others on wine industry, production, regions, varietals, and tasting methods; coordinate team member and customer education on wines
* Coordinate events and featured product displays around current Merchandising priorities
* Ensure products are available for customers by ordering and replenishing product; continuously look for and share ways to improve operations
* Coordinate daily work activities in the department; ensure tasks & trainings are prioritized & completed
* Set and achieve sales goals for targeted products
* Execute priorities; monitor and influence positive results in wine sales, contribution and customer engagement
*Skills/Experience*:
* Customer service experience in food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting
* Knowledge of Wine industry, regions, production and tasting methods; including French, Italian, California, Sparkling and other fine wines
* Able to communicate complex information in simple terms
* Experience with merchandising, meal pairing, event planning or customer relations
* Passion for people and enthusiasm and knowledge of relevant products and services
* Product ordering skills
* (optional) Certifications: International Sommelier Guild, Wine & Spirits Education Trust, or Society of Wine Educators
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.
00 - $19.
00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
